Lukka Care Homes has been operating care homes for the past 20 years, our experience is crucial to the successful running of our homes. Over the years we have had the pleasure of taking care of many people and in turn have learnt a lot about what makes nursing and care homes work well.
We make it our priority to work in close partnerships with local authorities, to provide an environment in which our residents can feel truly safe and comfortable. Working together with them to provide homes that actually feel like a home. They also keep us updated with what is going on, in and around the borough. This way we can take part in any acitivities and fuctions that are appropriate for our residents, which also strengthens their bond with the outside community.
Our Care and Services
Choosing a care home is a major decision often made at a stressful time and we hope this website will help to make the job a little easier.
Not knowing what is going to happen is often the biggest reason for concern, so we have done our best to simplify each step to keep you informed and at ease.
All our care home managers are people with considerable experience of working with vulnerable people, they will be delighted to hear from you and willing to offer general advice about these steps, up to and including admission to a care home offering full nursing support.
At all of our care homes we offer a full range of care services, including Nursing care, Dementia care, Residential care and Respite care.
Our purpose built care homes have landscaped gardens, which are a great source of enjoyment in the summer months and often a focus for activities.
There is always something going on in our care homes, whether it be art classes, music or celebrations.
We believe our activities programmes are a cornerstone of our holistic approach of care.
We are also a firm believer in tailoring our care to meet each residents specific needs and wishes.
This ensures best practise and research become ever part of our demanding high quality and standards.
Our Aims and Vision
Our aim is to deliver a complete professional service to our residents, whilst still encompassing that personal touch. Family and friends are often invited to join us for special occasions like birthdays and Christmas and to accompany us on outings, because we feel keeping in regular contact with family is essential to everyone’s wellbeing. The general atmosphere at all our homes is warm, relaxed and friendly. We welcome applications from people from all walks of life with many different needs, who enjoy the opportunity to share and celebrate the richness and diversity of their experience. Each person who resides at the nursing home is respected as an individual, with individual needs and desires.
Fundamental to everyone’s care is the right to privacy and dignity and the right to take reasonable risks and the assistance to make informed choices. All our residents are encouraged to make their rooms feel like home and we operate an open door visiting policy.
Ultimately we want to provide a home from home, for people that still wish to retain their independance, but require additional help to do this which is something that we can provide. With the different types of care we offer, we cover a broad spectrum of assistance and can always refine the care requirements to suit that of every individual.
Our Values
We appreciate that making a decision to place a loved one or to enter a nursing home yourself can be stressful.
We realise there may be times when there are concerns or worries that need to be discussed. Our staff are always available to talk these concerns through with you.
We focus considerable resources on training for our staff, so that we can deliver a high level of care through people who are professional, yet sympathetic and understanding – often easing the transition between leaving something you are familiar with for something new.
We will work with you to resolve any difficulties you may be experiencing and we actively encourage your comments on your care provision. We want all our residents to feel like they are at home with us, we actively encourage them to personalise their rooms and regularly discuss with them what they feel their requirements are.
Visitors are encouraged and welcomed at any time throughout the day and we have an open door policy for all our guests. This is a very important decision that we all face at some point in our lives and we hope that with us we can make this decision easier for you or your family.
