Vacancies
- Under the management of a Staff Nurse/Home Manager, to carry out procedures within your competence to assist with the care of residents.
- To make written reports regarding the residents in the Home as necessary this includes, Care Planning and Evaluation, monitoring charts, daily record of care, incident reports, accident reports, and clinical supervision.
- To receive record, administer and store medications for all residents in accordance with the Home’s Procedure.
- To attend Social Services’ reviews on Residents as representative of the Home.
- To be responsible for Clinical supervision of allocated staff, and ensure necessary documentation is completed.
- To act as a role model and mentor for all existing and new staff.
- To accompany general practitioner on his medical rounds to ensure all physical, mental and emotional needs are met.
- To liaise with other members of the multi disciplinary health team as well as relatives and friends with regard all aspects of care or concern pertaining to the resident.
- To lead and co-ordinate the care team and domestic.
- To ensure that residents are helped to retain their dignity and individuality, assist with service users, overall comfort and well being, provides interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user, monitors service users conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight
- To participate in the treatment and rehabilitation of residents as required.
- To take all reasonable steps to ensure the safekeeping of residents property.
- Carrying out general household duties that promote the welfare of residents.
- To be aware of and comply with the Home’s Operational Policy and Procedures as documented in the Quality Manual.
- To co-ordinate menu choice for all meals and report to kitchen. Assisting with residents’ meals, making sure that the meal is well presented and served at the correct temperature. Encouraging residents to have an adequate diet, reporting when this has not been achieved and recording in nutritional screen of residents monthly. Complete food and fluid chart if applicable for residents,
- To be fully conversant with the rules and procedures carried out in the event of a fire.
- To report all accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge of the Home.
- To be aware of and comply with the requirements regarding dress, behaviour, punctuality and attendance as indicated in the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedure, Disciplinary Rules and Contract of Employment.
- Where Home Policy is proved to be ill defined, or is becoming unworkable, to ensure that the Manager is informed.
- To attend appropriate training courses or study as requested – This includes mandatory training and specialist training in Dementia training.
- To be aware of and implement any Quality initiatives developed by the Company.

- Carrying out all clinical nursing practices in accordance with the Care Procedures/Work Instructions documented in the Quality Manual.
- Participating in the teaching and training of other staff members of the nursing team as directed, assessing trainees where required.
- Maintaining all nursing records and keeping the residents Care Plans up to date.
- Communicating with the residents relatives and visitors, documenting and acting on any relevant details, reporting to the Home Manager where applicable.
- Carrying out agreed Procedures for improvement of the nursing services and the reduction of cross infection.
- Adhering to agreed Procedures for the ordering, administration and safe custody of drugs in accordance with the Nursing Home Policy.
- Assisting medical staff to carry out direct medical resident care where appropriate.

- Obtaining laboratory specimens, which are the responsibility of nursing staff.
- Participating in the reception and discharge of residents in accordance with the Nursing Home Policy.
- Ensuring that adequate support is given to other members of the Nursing Home staff.
- Assisting with the introduction of new Procedures for the improvement of care
- Undertaking the appraisal of other staff where requested by the Home Manager.
- Deputising for the Home Manager when required.
- Covering on-call when required.
- All other duties for the efficient running of the Nursing Home.
- Reporting and recording accurately all accidents and untoward incidents appertaining to residents, visitors and staff.
- Assisting and maintaining professional discipline in the Nursing Home.
- Co-operating with all other staff to promote and maintain a high standard of care, complying with all Quality Systems introduced by the Company.
- Reporting to the Manager all matters that affect the management of the Home.
- Participating in the introduction of new staff to their duties.
- Participating in staff meetings.
- Having a full knowledge of the Fire Procedures, fire escapes and a working knowledge of the fire fighting equipment in your area of work.
- Keeping abreast of the current Nursing Home Procedures and Policies.
- Discussing and promoting innovations that will improve care or economies.
- Keeping abreast with current Policies and Procedures involving care.
- Keeping up to date with all national nursing information by reading professional journals and literature.
